Look to the Mountain Top : Contemporary Authors Reveal Our True Indian Heritage

Softcover. Very Good--/No Dust Jacket - As Issued. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Quite a bit of rubbing along spine, surface wear, a few small paint stains. Otherwise VG. Wear is only to cover. All pages clean and tight. Ffep. has odd inscription by prev. owner (?) : "To my Indian Buddy - From Ron. I did this book back in 1972. Ronald Z[illegible]" He doesn't appear to be connected with the productio n of the book; perhaps he is speaking metaphorically. Collection of essays and pieces on American Indian culture by such authors as Stewart L. Udall, Theodora Kroeber Quinn, D'Arcy McNickle, Nancy Oes treich Lurie, John C. Ewers, William C. Sturtevant, Jerrold E. Levy, John C. Ewers, Clara Lee Tanner, and others. By far the most unusual inclusion, however, is a piece on Indian art by Vincent Price, who is a lecturer in arts and crafts as well as an actor. The book includes maps, a chronology, recipes, and several other appendices as well.
